This spring, we bring our 2025–2026 season, Currents, to a close with a program titled "To Be Sung on the Water."
Exploring water in its many forms—rivers, rain, and the vastness of the ocean—these songs offer both refuge and reflection, reminding us that “it’s always ourselves we find in the sea” (e.e. cummings.) The program features works in Russian, German, French, and English, spanning composers from the 19th century to the present day.

In poetry and song, the wind brings solace, carries messages to our loved ones, and reminds us of our strength. As the wind rustles in the falling leaves and carries the birds to their southern homes, we are reminded of the ephemeral nature of all stages of life and states of being.
Works by Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, Alexander Scriabin, Amy Beach, Sarah Quartel, Gwyneth Walker, Greg Gilpin, Elaine Hagenberg, and others.
